The other day we were clearing out some old papers in the office here at Arlo Wolf and we stumbled upon an old pre-business plan that we used to write the full one. Oh my it felt nostalgic. How this paper kick-started everything. How we wanted to make it easier to buy glasses online by offering a home trial solution; where the customer order the glasses online and try them on at home. We thought about how convenient it would be to try with different outfits or how to get opinions from friends and family. For us the whole idea was an eye opener (nu pun intended) and while we were not the first to come up with the idea we actually thought about it ourselves without knowing it already existed. Feel like reading our pre-business plan below? Then please do read on.
In the ever-evolving world of e-commerce, customer experience is paramount. As we embark on the journey of launching our online glasses shop, we believe in setting a new standard by offering a service that goes beyond the conventional – introducing Free Home Trials which we later named “Try Before You Before”
The Vision of Home Trials
At the heart of our venture lies a simple yet revolutionary idea: allowing customers to try on our diverse range of glasses from the comfort of their own homes, without any cost or commitment. This concept germinated from a desire to break down barriers and provide an unparalleled shopping experience, characterized by convenience, choice, and confidence in one’s selection.
Putting It Into Practice
To kickstart this initiative, we’ll focus on a few key areas:
- Curating the Collection: Our selection of glasses will be carefully curated to cater to a wide spectrum of styles, face shapes, and preferences. From classic frames to bold, statement pieces, our offerings will be as diverse as our clientele.
- Streamlined Ordering Process: Navigating our website will be intuitive and hassle-free and offer filtering like Amazon, e.g face shapes and colours. Customers can select up to four pairs of glasses to be shipped directly to their homes, with no shipping or handling fees involved although we might consider asking for £1 deposit.
- Quality Assurance: Our commitment to quality extends beyond the aesthetics. Each pair of glasses will undergo rigorous quality checks before being dispatched, guaranteeing durability and comfort.
The Home Trial Experience
Upon receiving their chosen glasses, customers will have a generous period of seven (or more) days to experiment with different looks and gather feedback from trusted friends and family. We’ll provide a handy guide on how to assess the fit and style, as well as tips on caring for eyewear. We will offer free shipping to really make trying glasses at home a risk free experience.
Embracing Technology
To complete the home trial experience, we would allow upload of prescription to allow customer to order the real glasses after trying them on at hime.
Building Trust
Trust is the cornerstone of our endeavor. We understand that purchasing glasses is a significant decision, and we aim to foster an environment where our customers feel confident and supported throughout the process. To that end, we’ll offer very responsive customer support, ensuring that any questions or concerns are promptly addressed.
Launching the Glasses at Home idea
In the realm of e-commerce, innovation is key. By offering Free Home Trials, we are not only redefining the glasses shopping experience but also setting a new standard for customer-centricity. Our goal is to empower individuals to make informed, confident choices when it comes to their eyewear, all from the comfort of their own homes. With our commitment to quality, convenience, and exceptional service, we are excited to embark on this journey towards revolutionising the way we shop for glasses.
We hope you enjoyed a little bit of our internal thought process of how we were envisioning Arlo Wolf before starting on this journey many years ago. We hope you will continue on this journey with us as we are looking to improve and making the while buying process as well as making the “try glasses on at home” interactive.
